A bonus to the wonderful week of new designs, trend forecasts for the upcoming season and seeing the top dogs of the fashion world is playing a little game of “eye spy celebrities”. Arriving backstage or taking a seat front row, we snapped some shots of the celebs who emerged from all over to see their favorite designers. Take a look at who we saw under the iconic white tents this September.
With Austin City Limits on the horizon, a top line water bottle is always in need! No brainer: Skip the pricey bottles of water and instead, drink up on free H2O from the CamelBak filling stations available throughout the park.
On that note, CamelBak is offering their limited edition 10th anniversary Austin City Limits CamelBak water bottle to five of you lucky music lovers who “like” our snazzy Facebook Page and commenting on this post. Be green, stay hydrated, and start liking!
CamelBak, the go-to source in personal hydration products, will provide free freshly filtered water at 3 strategically positioned hydration stations throughout Zilker Park.
Contribute to a green earth: CamelBak Filling stations served up 4½ million ounces of water at Lollapalooza and eliminating the need to purchase 270,000 reusable water bottles. We plan to exceed those numbers at ACL.
The ACL CamelBak bottle facts: Limited edition design, BPA-free, includes CamelBak’s Big Bite Valve technology, which studies suggest that it allows you to drink up to 24% more water (cool!)
Am I on vacation? The Cut25 presentation in the heart of the meatpacking district was like walking into a land of seaside paradise. Being a surfer girl at heart, this 80s vibe, beach babe fever collection made me what to hit the sandy shores, or at least dress in a manner to feel like I was. Bubble gum pinks were unapologetically placed with pure sky blue hues and bright sun-shiny yellows. We now see why the models had to wear matching visors! Down to the hot-orange lace-up booties and saturated pink clog wedges, this line is at the top of my spring wish list. We are esteemed that Yigal Azrouel chose to make this new collection for us all to enjoy!
Chatting with the designer, Yigal:
What was your inspiration for the collection?
“The biggest inspiration was surfer, early 80’s eclectic feeling. I myself am a surfer, so I remember wearing polos. How that will look today, making it futuristic and modern.”
On CUT 25—
“The line is something missing in the market, so I am trying to do something a bit more fun, more interesting, athletic. I have customers that can’t afford the Yigal Azrouel collection, so this is a good price point, and the quality you get here is great.”
On preparing and showing 3 collections at NYFW—
“It’s a lot of work. I am showing three collections including my mens collection. I guess I can handle that.”
Who else is looking forward to this collection joining the spring market? We are!
Ladies, prepare yourselves for the headband turban trend. During the Luca Luca show at New York Fashion Week, the models strutted down the runway sporting turbans in a variety of colors. We could not take our eyes off of them. It’s funny how something so simple can really add the perfect amount of spunk to your outfit. Not sure how to wrap it? Take a look here!
One of the most exciting parts of being at New York City Fashion Week is taking in the street style as people from all over the world emerge in the city sporting high fashion with a personal twist. Outside-the-box dressers are galore in this fashionista ‘convention’. A street style moment of truth: questions about trends are answered when you can see how someone else is wearing it; sometimes you just need a little nudge. Take a look at LOLO Magazine’s top picks for street style today in the city. Feel free to let your hair down and go beyond your comfort zone this fall. Inspiration is truly at its best, so have fun with it!
Hey guys! It’s about time you got a little fashion insight…the ladies have been hogging it all. Well, I have some news for you, thanks to the brilliant General Idea show this morning at New York Fashion Week. I certainly understand the inspiration clause for this bright-hued collection: the boys of the beach. The designer clearly put his bold foot forward with this prep-tastic menswear line illusioned after the high society oasis of St. Tropez.

Displaying the perfect mix of luxury and leisure, the array of nautical stripes and checkered patterns makes that transition from day to night easy as a button. A primary blue and green palette created a prevalent wave of classic pieces, that were fresh, charming, and sophisticated. Not to mention, every look was precisely tailored, with some hints of trendsetting patchwork. The stand out additions: platform Sperry-esque topsiders, cable knit shorts (who said this fabric doesn’t work in the spring?), and of course the nearly neon multi-colored polyester jackets. Take some hints, men, and rock these looks next spring!
