About the Clean Sweep Program
You know we love our morning celery juices, potion packed superfood smoothies, and a good sweat sesh to give us tons of energy, glowing skin, and mental clarity. I receive so many questions regularly from what I am eating to where I grocery shop to the curiosity of if I am gluten-free or not, as well as questions about what non-toxic household cleaning products I use. These inquiries created in me a desire to share the knowledge that I have based on my own wellness journey and clean lifestyle, including specific details and answers to readers’ most-asked questions.
It seems like there is more information than ever these days about wellness trends, but the overwhelming message I hear from my readers, followers, and even my husband is that it is actually all super confusing. Are organic tomatoes and cucumbers good for me, or should I avoid nightshades? Will gluten free mung bean pasta give me a stomach ache? How do I eat clean and find balance while traveling yet still enjoy indulging in moderation? What beauty products should I use, and do they affect my health?
All that being said, I gathered everything I know about wellness from research and personal experience in a 90-day informational program of understandable and practical ways for transitioning into a clean lifestyle. I am a big believer in the food choices, products, and practices that I promote, but I want to stress that implementing everything perfectly is unrealistic. It took me quite some time to evolve into this lifestyle, and it takes patience, grace, and endurance! I didn’t make this transition overnight, but took baby steps over time. This included swapping out toxic products one by one for clean options that still get the job done, figuring out which foods gave me a healthy gut, glowing skin, and tons of energy, and discovering which practices provided physical healing as well as tools against anxiety, stress, and fear.
Please keep in mind, too, that every person is different! What works for me, might not be the answer for you, and vice versa. A lot of the process is learning healthful information, giving things a try, and then deciding what works for you. Also, please consult a doctor or health practitioner before trying any of these practices. I am passionate about wellness, but I am not a doctor! Second to that, the other most important tip I can give you is to listen to your body as you figure out what works for you and what doesn’t. Some people do great with cauliflower pizza crust, while others will be left crumpled on the floor in digestive distress. Some people will feel a major buzz from dry brushing and oil pulling, while others might find gratitude journaling and intermittent fasting is more their speed. This is a journey about you doing you! There is freedom found in finding your own personal rhythm of wellness. This is your journey, so make it your own so that you can feel your personal best.
Wellness trends come and go. This is a lifestyle, not a diet or a fad, so it will take time and patience to transition. I want to help you follow this journey at YOUR speed with flexibility and grace. Yes, it requires a commitment to some lifestyle changes that will depend upon self-discipline and motivation (p.s. I want to be your cheering section), but you have to find the sweet spot of balancing this lifestyle without being so rigid that you are afraid to go out to dinner or enjoy a glass of wine and some dessert on vacation! That balance will look different for each person, and that is part of the beauty of wellness; it is a unique and personal lifelong experience that will look different from season to season.
Let’s find the courage to make some changes to start living our best life! It is ultimately about honoring our God-given, God-created bodies. I believe that our physical bodies are temples God created, and I want to nourish my body by fueling it with the best foods and products, while also nurturing my spirit through mindfulness, meditation, and a deeper connection to myself and our Creator.
I can’t wait to go through this journey with you!
