lifestyle// idaho home inspo

not very many of you may know, but we’re currently BUILDING A HOME at one of our favorite spots in idaho. between pregnancy and giving birth, it hasn’t been a project we’ve talked about very much but for over the past year or so we’ve been working diligently on building this house and creating it into a home.

THE PROCESS BEGAN in january 2021 when we started conversations with our builder and broke ground soon after in june of the same year. there was a bit of a delay from that point on until now because we were waiting on approvals from the county, which took an extended amount of time because of covid. fast forward to now in april 2022 the project is really coming along and starting to look like a home! the framing, siding, roof, and windows are in. next up is the deck framing, drywall, air seal and insulation, and then the install of interior doors.

a huge part of this process has been working alongside the sweetest and most talented design team BUCA STUDIOS which has included sourcing all of the materials for the house from the floor to tiles to the style of the fireplace and more. we’ve loved every minute of this process and are so grateful for the ways they’ve added to our home! we truly could not have done this without them.

as for the INTERIOR DESIGN, i will share more about that later as we get closer to the completion of the project! we won’t furnish the home until late august or so but I have already been creating spreadsheets and designing it in my mind–and then with the help of HOUSE OF JADE INTERIORS, we will hopefully have the house fully styled closer to the end of summer.

a large part of the design process for the COSMETIC ASPECTS of the interiors that we have been working on with buca studios has also been pulling different things that have inspired us, whether it be materials or images, and finding ways to bring them to life. i thought it would be fun to share a few of the different pieces of content that inspired us for this build and how we incorporated them into the home!

BELOW YOU CAN FIND the different images i showed our design team in the initial stages of our design process, and an explanation of how we pulled that concept in.

this photo was one of my greatest inspirations for our home at gozzer - from the arches to the absence of moldings around doors to the paint color and earthy feels

the black iron windows and the simplicity of the decor is what drew me to this photo

the style of this fireplace is what we have planned for our home

this is the vibe we’re hoping to incorporate for our stairs

this photo is the inspiration for our entryway ceiling beams and also for the color of our wood floor

this is the style door we are going to use for our primary bedroom

lighting vibes

the marble and cabinet color ambience is what we are leaning towards for the kitchen

i love the shape and simplicity of this dining furniture

this is the aesthetic we like for the bedrooms

this photo gave me major inspiration for the powder bath sink and faucets
