blog I adore: being/elliott

3i had the pleasure of meeting my sweet friend brynn watkins through a close friend of mine this past year. her love for life, people, and creativity reflected in her passionate and kind spirit. she is one that you feel like you have known for years right after you meet her! she has also contributed wonderful posts to my online magazine, which has added a new spark of talent and interest to the site. check out her blog: you are bound to be inspired! read on for more inside scoop on this lovely blog...1. What is Being/Elliott all about?Being/Elliott is all about people and products that inspire me. Being Elliott focuses on the whimsical fascinations of my life.  It is an online platform where I share thoughts, ideas, travels, life and personal style.2. Why did you start Being/Elliott?As a naturally curious person,  I wanted to have a platform were I could talk to designers, artisans, and shop owners I admire how they do it all. I love all the relationships I have garnered through collaborations and interviews. Being/Elliott has created lovely relationships that will last a lifetime, and I have learned so much!3. How have your life experiences shaped the way you see the world and blog?Working in the high-energy fashion world can make you overlook the little things in life sometimes. I want Being/Elliott to have a different message instead of the typical “buy this and it will make you feel better." I want Being/Elliott to be a place to learn about people who work tirelessly to make beautiful things. I want to inspire people to go out and create for themselves and start becoming the lovely, kind people they were designed to be. I have learned in my life everyone has a unique purpose in this life.  If Being/Elliott can help them realize this purpose, then I am over the moon about it!4. Describe who you think your typical reader is (her style and attitude towards life)? My readers are  curious and love to learn and think about new ideas. They love a good book and often find their minds wondering to a place where their dreams are a reality. They love learning about new craftsman and arts, and they buy products that are both culture conscious and lovely. They are wonderful one and all.5. What is the best advice you can give your readers today?Go after what you want but don’t trample anyone to get there. Be kind in all things and remember everyone is fighting their own personal battles.26. What are some of your fashion must-haves for the upcoming spring months? - a hat to keep the sun off your face like this one from Rag & Bone.-a pair of kicky sandals for beach walks like this pair from Nisolo Shoes.-a light dress for exploring. I love this one from Imogene and Willie.-a unique necklace that supports a wonderful cause from Red Earth Trading Co.7. What is the best advice you have ever received. To “use helpful words not harmful words, the kind that build people up and not tear them down.” I can thank my wonderful and inspiring mother, Laurie, for advice like that. I was blessed with loving and compassionate parents.8. Share your favorite piece you own and why.I love the vintage gown my Grandmother Fairy Belle made. We were exactly the same size back in the day, which means I get all of her amazingly gorgeous hand-sewn gowns. She designed them herself, and they are all precious gems in my eyes.9. Share three products you are currently obsessing over and why.-My new full moon cuff from Young Frankk. It is modern and adds a unique statement to any outfit.-I am loving this lovely Silk and Linen dress from Siobhan Barrett. It is the perfect outfit for any special occasion. I am in love.-This amazingly intricate black fold over clutch designed by Lee Coren. It is such a statement piece and is perfect for those nights you don’t want to take a huge purse with you.10.
