Slightly Alice? I am crazy about the thigh-high boots and the knee socks: it's about time this trend made its return. Elegance exudes from the ruffles, the pleated blazer,  the combination of earth and blush tones, and that HAIR.

Sometimes a desired end is achieved through opposite means. Create extreme femininity through masculine apparel. Remember though: slouchy does not mean ill-fitting. Also, intertwine more structured pieces than non. Contrast a stiletto with a baggy jean. Relax a blazer by rolling up the sleeves. Soften a bold watch with skinny bangles.

This trend is fantastic. It is messy sophistication--a trend that is as a whole- a contradiction. It is deliberate disarray. Prim and proper is walking the runway, but for some reason, it does not personally inspire me. Eyes are not in full clearance, and hair takes over if you choose this look.

A few years ago, I lost a silly bet with my friend Curt. The repercussions were finally played out and are displayed below. My expectations of this night were very low: low meaning I thought the outfit would be absolutely humiliating. To my relief and surprise, the outfit was pretty darn cute: cute meaning I was a little disappointed in their attempt to embarrass me. These are the reasons why:

This outfit hit the following trends: layering, sequins, mixed patterns, double breasted silhouette (trend forecast for fall 2010), kitten heels, and an exaggerated shoulder. Way to go guys!

Get pumped for Alice in Wonderland. This is one of my favorite shoots with Lindsey Brittain and Ryan Ray. Their visions are impeccable. The results...a little taste of the magical world.
