INTERIOR HACK // AESTHETICALLY PLEASING + TODDLER FRIENDLY

I don’t know if it was because I was nesting when I was pregnant with poppy or if I wanted to lessen up on the boundary-setting with ryver and interior accessories because that can feel so exhausting, but I had this idea to create a completely toddler-friendly home without it being obvious. I also just love when ryvie can explore the house and play freely without me constantly having to watch him around furniture with sharp edges. and I know the playing will only increase as he grows (he is only 21 months) + poppy is going to be walking and will be his partner in crime before we know it. making these changes brings so much peace of mind, and it has produced the coziest space.

my vision: when you walk into our home, you feel peace and calm, safety and aesthetic delight and enjoyment, like you can sink in and live and play and dream.

with this idea constantly swirling in my brain, I hopped on canva and started envisioning the space. and then the biggest dream came true: the most lovely crate and barrel made my ideas come to life!

the burl wood bar cabinet is now enclosed and gorgeous, has smooth edges and is a complete work of art in itself; it’s so nice to have zero concern about broken glass bottles or the kids bumping into sharp metal bar cart corners

everything is rounded; the cambria sofa is very hard to stain or mess up, is easy to fluff, and is insanely comfy and beautiful + the boys (including jase) really love it

the dark pillows add so much warmth to the entry area paired with this and this to add contrast

the walnut wood kid’s table is ryver’s new go-to spot. he loves sitting in the chairs to color or play with his cars, and I know he will just continue to use it more and more as he gets older; this is the perfect foundation to their *pretty* playroom

in the kid’s room, I ordered this bookcase from amazon to hold these bins to store books and toys

this was my desk, and now it has been made into the most beautiful credenza

this stunning original art piece hanging above the table is by tiffany de la llave; the texture adds even more beauty and interest to the space

the hand knotted rug is nearly invincible and adds the most warm texture

any jake arnold piece is an honor to have in a home, and this chair lives up to that; the velvet is so chic and ryver gets comfy with his books in this seat

I am allll about lighting, and this lamp completely made this room complete

we also love the coffee table being rounded on the edges and low to the ground because if he tries to climb it, the fall isn’t as far as others; the color we got is reclaimed pine

and to top it off, we replaced our entryway chandelier with this pendant, and it is hard to describe how stunning it is in person. it is a total mood in itself and changes the entire atmosphere

in the main living room, we changed out our wooden circular coffee table to this soft ottoman; it is so pretty, wears incredibly well and we can move it easily up against the sofa to make it a bigger cushion space
