Who would have imagined that sweats would become the recent #ootd? I love the #InMyScrubs challenge where people are supporting those in hospital scrubs by staying in your scrubs at home and donating. It is such a beautiful way to feed health care workers with food from local restaurants while committing to stay home. Wearing sweats at your house is such a great picture of respecting the legal protocols, protecting others and yourself, and also doing good while staying put, whether that's caring on overload for your family, cooking, working, or learning! You are making an impact by just staying in.I wanted to show you some sweats I have been living in during this time of isolation.This is the coziest sleep set that is also so perfect for the daytime (top and pants). I literally have been in this for two days straight. I love this more fitted sweat pant with a more oversized top (the comfiest combo that is flattering too!). These classic sweatpants have been my favorite + they are so comfy and a bit oversized. I have this in a neutral color as well as this rose tone, and I wear them both several times a week. Hey friends!Melissa recently visited me here in California and we had the best time together!! One thing that came up in conversation was how comfortable clothes are truly the best. You know, leggings, jeans, tees, and sweatshirts...those are the things we always reach for, again and again! And you know why? Because they are easy and we don't have to think about them once we put them on. Let's be honest: we are most comfortable in clothes that are cozy and feel good on, the ones you don't have to pull, tug, and adjust throughout the day. This does for undergarments, too!Think about how you feel in your favorite pair of jeans & sweatshirt. Relaxed, comfortable, confident, happy. Right? Right! Investing in pieces that are comfortable is always a good idea, because they are the ones that you wear 80% of the time. And let's make sure we talk about how comfortable still means cute! We are big believers that liking what you are wearing is important. Comfort & cute go hand in hand, in our opinion. There are SO many options out there of adorable clothes that can double as loungewear. Add your favorite pair of denim with an oversized tunic sweatshirt and you have yourself an outfit that carries you from brunch to happy hour.The comfort of clothing can be yours! Don't let tight jeans or an itchy sweater steal one more second of joy away from you...it's not worth it! One of best things I have done when de-cluttering is said goodbye to uncomfortable clothes. The majority of my closet is a collection of sweatshirts, tees, leggings, and jeans and I wouldn't have it any other way. The items in my closet currently are truly items that I love, ones that I reach for on repeat, and ones that make me feel like me. When adding something new to my closet, I really try to be intentional and think about if it's comfortable, when I will wear it, and what I will wear it with. Old Jeans Can Insulate New Homes

Y’all have probably seen that Jase and I recently moved into a new home that we are so excited about. The renovation has been quite a journey (updates + lots of blog posts coming soon!), but the one thing that struck me the most happened this week. #ad

We moved out of our home in February anticipating a month of living in a hotel while our renovation was in progress, so we packed a month’s worth of our clothing to prep for our time away. One month turned to eight, and this week I started tackling the clothes in the garage; doing loads of laundry (pun intended) and processing the need for another purge. My denim is in major influx and to be honest, it astounded me. It’s almost like it took living on a minimal wardrobe to realize how we definitely don’t wear all of what we have.

To get to the crux, I struggled with knowing what to do with my old jeans! Did you know that since authentic denim is made from cotton, a natural fiber, it can be recycled and used to create something new? I became aware of the Denim Stack Challenge by Cotton’s Blue Jeans Go Green™ denim recycling program and was so elated! I had no idea that I could support sustainable living through recycling my denim + I never had any idea that my old denim could create natural cotton fiber insulation to help building efforts around the country.

Take Good Care Of Yourself

The other day someone in passing said to me when saying goodbye, "take good care of yourself"! Their words made me think: what does "take good care of yourself" actually mean? How does one do that well? [show_shopthepost_widget id="3755958"]

TAKING CARE OF YOURSELF...

...means different things for different people at different times. But man oh man, is it important. Our loving Lord of course is our great caretaker; He takes care of us in multiple ways from His throne. I believe though that He equips us to take care of ourself AND in His great provision, surrounds us with people who will also care for us. It's our responsibility, though, to care for ourselves to the best of our human ability. This includes caring for our physical bodies, emotional selves, spiritual souls, and our God-focused minds.

I PRAY...

...for all of us to fight off the guilt that the enemy uses when we do focus on and care for ourselves. Don't be surprised when the devil tries to tell you you are selfish or you should be doing something else for someone else. It's simply NOT TRUE. Taking good care of yourself by rest, relaxation, taking time to do your favorite hobby, investing in yourself, doing something that makes you smile...all of those things fill up your energy tank in order to take care of others in your life well! You have to be filled up in order to fill others up.xo
