LO
- I used to be all about high-intensity works outs, and even though I crave one every once in a while, I recently created a new work out routine that feels best for my body: hiking, practicing yoga, and a weekly pilates session. I have noticed such lengthening in my muscles and a more relaxed body and mind. Stressful days seem to affect me less!
- Making a nutrient-packed smoothie in the morning seems to start the day on the right foot. I feel so nourished and energy-filled to take on the day ahead!
- Getting a massage every couple of weeks is so important and necessary for my body. I found this place down the street that is extremely affordable, so that helps to fit it into my lifestyle without spending a fortune!
- Bath-salt-filled bubble baths are essential for me, especially when the weather cools down. Also, doing consistent face and hair masks bring me life, so I usually incorporate the two at the same time. All of these spa-at-home activities help me relax and wind down from the day.
- Good quality time with my man is something I can't live without. We try to change it up between last minute getaway trips, movie nights at home, sweet and intentional conversations around the table, evening strolls, or a spontaneous date night.
MELISS
- Staying hydrated is key. I have a glass life factory bottle that I carry around everywhere with me and am constantly refilling it.
2. I have seriously not been sick since September 2015 and I truly believe it’s because how much I sweat. I do hot yoga about 3 times a week and do about 30 minutes in an infrared sauna once a week. Ridding the body of toxins and heating up your core is a good way to keep the common cold and viruses going around at-bay.
3. I typically always have a mug of Rishi turmeric ginger tea before bed + am in bed reading and unwinding around 9:15pm every night during the week. I usually sleep 7-8 hours- straight through. I am a major morning person so I am up at 5:30/6 ready to roll.
4. Eating a ton veggies is a must! I get a veggie fix with almost every meal, starting with a romaine, carrot, cucumber ginger smoothie in the morning. That is not my breakfast however, just my post-workout drink! It’s a great way to get veggies in first thing.
5. Worrying is a no no. Worry = stress, which does not make for a happy soul. I used to be a worry-er but spent many months praying about it and reading biblical verses/ listening to sermons about worry and fear. I have made a ton of progress and can truly say that I rarely feel worried now because of my increased faith. Faith and fear cannot coexist! I do believe that less worry makes for a healthier life + a happier soul.

thankful for the love
This Thanksgiving we are feeling extra thankful for love- the unending love from the Lord, love for one another, love for life’s sweetest moments, and love for everyday moments as well. We will definitely be counting our blessings all day long and we hope you will join us.
“Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good; his love endures forever” Psalm 107:1

olive green + crochet = perfect fall dress
Olive green dress (less than $50!) | Crossbody bag (also converts to a backpack!) | Booties | Earrings | Ring | Aviators
So it's no secret by now that olive green is a huge trend this Fall season, which I am loving. My current wardrobe consist of this olive green dress (plus a few others), olive green sweaters, olive green rompers...I cannot get enough. I think this color compliments just about any skin tone, looks amazing with cognac and gold, and just has such an easy/natural feel to it. The olive green trend allows you to add color to your wardrobe, but without straying too far from the neutral family (aka my comfort zone).
This olive green dress was one that I bought, without even trying on (for sizing info, I'm wearing the XS). First of all, because the price is SO good (only $48?! yes please). I also loved the hankerchief hemline, because it reminds of of Tinkerbell! It's so fun to twirl in. I also figured I'd get a ton of use out of it because it's perfect for Baylor games, and will look great with riding boots, as well as booties!

olive trench coat: your new fall staple
Even though I've pretty much loved fashion since I was in the womb, there's one wardrobe staple that I hadn't yet obtained until this season: a trench coat. I always love how they look, but I feel like they are so New York, or...some city that's not Dallas. When I saw this one though, I knew I had to have it! It's oversized which gives it a more casual look, and it's pretty lightweight which makes it perfect for Dallas weather. So, if you're new to this wardrobe staple too, go for this olive trench coat! Such a great purchase.

denim + cable knit
Cable knit sweater c/o Chicwish | Denim skirt c/o Chicwish | Booties c/o Sole Society | Hobo bag c/o Hobo | Sunnies | Earrings
I will be the first to admit - I was really hesitant about this denim skirt trend. I love the 70s vibe of it, but personally felt like I couldn't pull it off. That all changed though the second I actually tried this one on. The combination of high-waisted + A-line basically equals the most flattering thing you could ever put on. I also love this denim skirt because it gives you variety when you don't just want to wear jeans. Dallas has been really slow to enter into fall, so this is a great alternative to dress "fall", without burning up!
I've also always been a fan of semi-cropped sweaters but since I'm tall-ish, I've had a hard time knowing what to pair it with. I love pairing this cable knit sweater with the denim skirt - the skirt is high waisted so I don't have to worry about the sweater being too short, and I think cable knit and denim is such a classic look!

striped dress for fall
I'm not exactly sure what it is about stripes that draw me to them, but I'm a magnet to a good striped shirt or striped dress. I think because I'm typically not a fan of patterns, so stripes allows me to wear a pattern but still embrace simplicity. This striped dress is a new favorite of mine because it will be perfect for layering once the temperatures cool down - with a faux fur vest or leopard scarf. It's also really easy to dress up or down! (AND the price is SO good!)

boho tunic dress
Anything oversized, boho, and less than $50...is just my weakness in life. This tunic dress I'm sharing with you today was one of those items I saw online and before I knew it, it was in my closet without a second thought! It's still pretty hot in Dallas so I just paired this with my favorite pair of booties and a classic hobo bag. But what I love about this tunic is that it'll be perfect in the fall with distressed skinny jeans and boots!
