I highly questioned if I wanted to buy a pair of Birkenstocks - I couldn't believe they were coming back; I remember when they were trending in high school! #flashback || I have to say, once I made the purchase, I got hooked again. They are the perfect shoe to pair with anything from an errand-running outfit (see below) to a casual dress. Here is a recent look that fits perfectly for this spring transition + this is my new go-to sweater.

When it comes to tops, I have two weaknesses: feminine shoulder details, and anything flowy, which is why I'm obsessed with this off-the-shoulder floral top! Nothing says spring like florals and I love that this one is a soft floral print, and has a subtle/organic look to it. (Also, the price is too good to pass up!)

Boyfriend jeans have also always held a special place in my heart - until I found this pair of "his girl jeans". First of all, $58 for jeans? Yes. Second of all, the fit is SO comfortable, I don't even feel like I'm wearing jeans!

the in-between
Everyone loves Fall for the thick scarves and riding boots and warm flannel. I fall into that category as well, but one thing I love particularly about this time of year is the transition. We're not quite to the flannel yet so our current outfits are a beautiful mix of summer and fall wardrobes. We don't have to say goodbye to the tank tops just yet, because you can still throw a scarf over it and be ready for the day (at least in Texas!). Scarves with tank tops, sweaters with shorts, v-neck tees with fall hats...I love these combos!I had gotten a few requests from my instagram (@laurenkaysims) this weekend about a sweater I wore on a road trip to San Antonio with my hubby, and this is definitely one of the "transition" looks I'm referring to.

Denim Craze: Neuw Jeans
Oh how I love denim! When someone asks me what I collect: denim. My fetish: JEANS (and sweet potatoes, duh). They maybe, just maybe, are color-coated in my closet. #embarrassingconfession.So the point of the story is that I am a hard critic. For me to purchase a new pair of jeans, they must have the WOW factor, meaning they do not compromise on fit, color, wash, or purpose. That's right, purpose. They must fit the occasions in your daily life, or an occasion that could possibly come up: justification 101. There is nothing like a great pair of jeans, especially those classic ones filled with memories, and I assure you Neuw Denim could be next in line.
