Trend Alert! Fierce Fedoras
If you followed our fashion frenzy from New York, you may have noticed that fedoras are a huge item for Fall 2013. This is definitely a must have for the season. I particularly loved the modern trend at Trina Turk's sleek chic presentation at Lincoln Center and the hats spotted on the runway with a raiding your boyfriend's closet vibe at Nicole Miller. Okay, are you dying for this accessory? Never fear, we have your back. You can purchase a fierce felt fedora from Topshop here.

Charlotte Ronson: Rugged Urban
Charlotte Ronson is known for her "cool-girl" design style, but her urban girl took an explorer turn in her Fall 2013 collection. The collection focused on grass florals in tones of whites and mossy greens with outerwear predominately focusing on heather grey shades. Contrasting textures and patterns were used to kick up the styling to the next level with a unique twist. Although the collection was aiming towards the girl who craves adventure, I could easily see these looks translating well on the city streets.Shop latest Charlotte Ronson collections here.[galleryview id=137]Photos courtesy of Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week.
Diane von Furstenberg: A Color Parade
Diane von Furstenberg is always a breath of fresh air with her colorful designs during fashion week. It is refreshing to see so much life and energy. After seeing countless neutral tones in other shows, DVF inspired us with pops of color that took us on a trip to a distant beach.DVF's Fall collection did not disappoint. With jaw dropping gowns, poppy pants suits and silky shifts, DVF had us all going "gaga". Models were in clean makeup with poppy pink lips and natural hair that complimented the colorful bursts of womenswear perfectly. DVF's Fall 2013 collection was very red heavy, intermixed with bursts of bright pinks and blues. There were also a few "Andy Warhol" type floral prints in the mix. Whether on a vacation escape at the beach or catching a taxi on Broadway, these looks take you away in a colorful breeze of color.Shop DVF collections here.[galleryview id=135]Photos courtesy of Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week.
Betsey Johnson: Back with a Kick
Betsey Johnson made a possibly viral return with her kicky Active Wear Fall 2013 collection. Models came rushing down the yoga mat lined runway in a “total New Yorker’s style” jabbering away on their cellphones only stoping to pose for a quick snap shot for the photographers at the end of the runway. Betsey went for sporty looks with a vibrant color palette that was very neon heavy. The energy from the color and the girls gave Betsey’s show the perfect “kung-pow” kick to capture the audience in a different way. Leggings, maxi dresses, sport jackets and fur vests ruled the runway. Models were styled with technicolor cropped wigs and smashingly dramatic eye makeup. For accessories the models wore “cool-girl” neon sneakers, and toted large bright colored and printed duffles as well as leather side bags and clutches. This active wear collection is sure to keep us on our toes--on or off the cell!Shop Betsey Johnson collections here.[galleryview id=134]Photos courtesy of Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week.
Hervé Léger by Max Azria Brings an Urban Edge
Gathering in the Theatre at Lincoln Center for one of the most anticipated shows of the season, we were ready to see what Hervé Léger by Max Azria had in store for us. Crop tops, fur, sheer crewnecks, zip-front jackets and leggings took over. With leather accents and a large focus on bandaged dresses, the overall look had an urban edge. The color palette was heavy on gunmetal and black. Don't worry, the designer did not skip out on details! Studs, geometric and textured beading were present in several of the pieces. Accessories including booties, structured clutches and chic baseball caps topped off the collection.Shop Hervé Léger by Max Azria collections here.[galleryview id=129]Photos courtesy of Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week.
Carmen Marc Valvo: Lace and Leather
Reporting from New York Fashion Week, we have spotted ready-to-wear trends for the Fall 2013 season. Carmen Marc Valvo has filled our minds with inspiration for the Fall wardrobe. Trench coats (accented with black square patent leather tile), satin blouses, feathered coats, lace, leather and silk are pieces to keep your eye on. Peplum waists, embroidered skirts and evening looks made quite the impact as well. The item that was to die for? A pink feathered fox coat. My jaw literally dropped to the floor as this look, which was completed with a wool pant and leather ankle strap pumps, hit the runway. To top it off? The models sported pink tipped hair. So fierce. The edgy yet classic collection felt very right for my closet.Shop current Carmen Marc Valvo here.[galleryview id=124]Photos courtesy of Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week.
Tadashi Shoji: Romantic Details
Inspired by the Russian Empire, Tadashi Shoji brought romantic looks to life on the runway this season. Wool lace, high neck lines and long sleeves were spotted along with deep jewel tones, ivory and velvet. The silhouettes were stunning to say the least. Chiffon tops and long gowns graced the catwalk as our heads turned anticipating the next piece to the collection. I personally love the femininity in every detail. While Tadashi was inspired by the dynastic past, the modern day girl can be seen wearing any part of the line. Absolutely gorgeous.Shop the latest Tadashi Shoji collection here.[galleryview id=121]photos: ELLE.com
