neutral obsessed
Fun fact about Lauren: one of my first retail jobs ever was at Ann Taylor LOFT, freshman year of college. It was a great job where I learned a lot, helped women shop, and really fell in love with the brand. To this day, if I ever need something quick and don't have a lot of time to shop, I know I can count on LOFT - whether it's for work clothes, gameday attire, or just something cozy and casual. The look I'm wearing in this post is head to toe LOFT & I love that it can be work appropriate, but still fun and flirty for a dinner out! Considering my love for neutrals, I instantly fell in love with this mock neck sweater as it has not just one, but TWO neutral colors in it. Mock Neck Color Block sweater - LOFT / Quilted grey skirt - LOFT / Kendra Scott Earrings / D'Orsay Flats - LOFT / David Yurman Bracelet / Michael Kors watch / Kendra Scott Druzy Ring / I paired this mock neck pullover with a fun flirty skirt, which is perfect for Fall. On warmer days you can just wear it as is, and as the temperature cools down, it would be perfect with tights and black booties! What I also love about this outfit too is that you don't have to pick between gold or silver accessories - you can do both!
5 Friday Faves
Random fact: one of my favorite things about writing for LOLO Mag is getting to hear what some of Lo's "5 Friday Faves" are. I love learning from other people and she's always calling out product or brands that a lot of times are new to me and great additions to my closet or home! So, for this week, the first 3 are favorites of Lo's, the last two are mine. xx
beauty of branching out
I like to think of myself as a fairly practical person, which very much plays itself out in my wardrobe. I tend to migrate towards pieces that I can wear everyday, that are versatile, that I can wear both to church and on date night (follow me on instagram, and you'll see I'm obsessed with neutrals + anything oversized). The look below though, is an exception to my comfort zone staples. When I first saw this bright pink skirt, I thought it was so fun but so not my typical look. Once I had it on though, I fell in love, because practicality can only take you so far. Everyone needs their go-to look for their own birthday dinner, their best friend's bachelorette party or a trendy date night out. Sometimes I have to force myself to put down the boyfriend jeans, and branch out! Shop my look: Balmain girl jacket - Milk & Honey Boutique. Pink A-line skirt - Milk and Honey Boutique. Madewell suede booties. Michael Kors leather watchI had such a blast walking around the Bishops Arts district in Dallas with the oh-so-talented Lindsey Shea in this bright pink A-line skirt that I paired with my favorite leather jacket for the Fall season. This jacket is great because it's light weight and can either be dressed up or down. It will pair great with any piece in your wardrobe!I dressed this look down a bit with my favorite Madewell booties, since it was during the day and we were just walking around town. But a great pair of strappy heels (like these, by Dolce Vita - see them below on Lo!) would complete this outfit perfectly. What about you?
