aerie love.
Ever since the “heart fairy” covered my bedroom floor with colorful candy hearts when I was little, Valentine’s Day has always been one of my favorite days in the world. What’s better than twenty four hours dedicated to celebrating love? I know some people are resentful toward this holiday, but even if you are not in love, there are so many ways to make this date so enjoyable!Ideas: make cute heart shaped pancakes for your roomies, fill your home with beautiful flowers, or send your friend an adorable valentine telling them how much they mean to you! Even better: cozy up in these Aerie heart socks or fancy up in these cat eye sunnies and military romper, plan a fun dinner with your close girlfriends and celebrate what you are thankful for! Aerie and I have partnered up to make this holiday even lovelier than it already is! This chambray dress immediately caught my eye considering it is so cozy to run errands in or tidy up the house! Not to mention, I am so honored to support the #AerieReal movement, which promotes anti-photoshopping. I hope everyone comes to notice their true beauty during this season of new beginnings and the start of a new year. What are your plans for Valentine's Day? Jason and I are escaping to the beach (our happy place) for a few days! I haven't thought about a swimsuit in a few months considering this chilly weather, but I found this adorable one along with this panama hat and roomy poncho. Oh! And naturally these heart sunnies. P.S. Need some adorable Valentine's Day gift ideas? A coffee mug is always a perfect present; this cupcake kit is beyond darling; everyone needs a cute first aid kit; and can we just all talk about this tumbler? #cutest
olive green + crochet = perfect fall dress
Olive green dress (less than $50!) | Crossbody bag (also converts to a backpack!) | Booties | Earrings | Ring | Aviators
So it's no secret by now that olive green is a huge trend this Fall season, which I am loving. My current wardrobe consist of this olive green dress (plus a few others), olive green sweaters, olive green rompers...I cannot get enough. I think this color compliments just about any skin tone, looks amazing with cognac and gold, and just has such an easy/natural feel to it. The olive green trend allows you to add color to your wardrobe, but without straying too far from the neutral family (aka my comfort zone).
This olive green dress was one that I bought, without even trying on (for sizing info, I'm wearing the XS). First of all, because the price is SO good (only $48?! yes please). I also loved the hankerchief hemline, because it reminds of of Tinkerbell! It's so fun to twirl in. I also figured I'd get a ton of use out of it because it's perfect for Baylor games, and will look great with riding boots, as well as booties!

olive trench coat: your new fall staple
Even though I've pretty much loved fashion since I was in the womb, there's one wardrobe staple that I hadn't yet obtained until this season: a trench coat. I always love how they look, but I feel like they are so New York, or...some city that's not Dallas. When I saw this one though, I knew I had to have it! It's oversized which gives it a more casual look, and it's pretty lightweight which makes it perfect for Dallas weather. So, if you're new to this wardrobe staple too, go for this olive trench coat! Such a great purchase.

Naturalizer boot
As a girl who loves and lives fashion, I often get asked the question who my inspiration is when it comes to fashion, or when I first knew I loved fashion. My answers to these questions always comes back to my mom, which is why I am so excited to introduce ya'll to her today in today's post!My mom and I are both wearing the Naturalizer Jordie boot (mine in grey and her's in brown). What I love about the Naturalizer boot is that you don't have to sacrifice comfort for style. We walked around in these boots all day and our feet still felt great at the end of the day!
Sweater | Skinny Jeans | Boot | Hobo bag | Earrings
Another thing that I love about this Naturalizer boot is that it will never go out of style. I'm wearing it now as a 25-year-old newly wed who is a major Dallas and fashion girl, and my mom is wearing them as a new grandmother who also values trends and style! You can shop this boot and more on Naturalizer.com!

the perfect fall dress
This olive green fall dress ya'll. I was at the mall returning something and then I laid eyes on this and without trying it on, I bought it. First of all, I love the olive green color. Second of all, it was less than $60. And lastly, I knew I'd be able to wear it anywhere and everywhere. I've worn it with a denim jacket, I've worn it with a long cardigan, and I've worn it by itself. Such a good purchase!

denim + cable knit
Cable knit sweater c/o Chicwish | Denim skirt c/o Chicwish | Booties c/o Sole Society | Hobo bag c/o Hobo | Sunnies | Earrings
I will be the first to admit - I was really hesitant about this denim skirt trend. I love the 70s vibe of it, but personally felt like I couldn't pull it off. That all changed though the second I actually tried this one on. The combination of high-waisted + A-line basically equals the most flattering thing you could ever put on. I also love this denim skirt because it gives you variety when you don't just want to wear jeans. Dallas has been really slow to enter into fall, so this is a great alternative to dress "fall", without burning up!
I've also always been a fan of semi-cropped sweaters but since I'm tall-ish, I've had a hard time knowing what to pair it with. I love pairing this cable knit sweater with the denim skirt - the skirt is high waisted so I don't have to worry about the sweater being too short, and I think cable knit and denim is such a classic look!

a new closet fave
You know you made a good purchase when you buy something that you never want to take off. And you repeat the same outfit 3 times in one week because you love it so much. That's exactly how I feel about this faux shearling vest. Vest c/o Splendid | White tee c/o Splendid | Distressed skinny jeans | Booties c/o Splendid | Earrings | Sunnies (get your first month FREE with code "laurenkaysims"What I love about this (faux) shearling vest is how versatile it is. It hasn't been cold enough in Texas yet for a big heavy vest, but I've been able to wear this one with a short-sleeved tee because it's pretty light-weight! It also has pockets and is the softest thing in the world. The other great thing about this shearling vest is that you can make it as dressy or casual as you want. I paired mine with distressed skinny jeans but you could also do it with a black skinny pant and heels for a dressier look!

boho chic
When people ask me to describe my style, I often use the phrase "boho chic" - not necessarily because that's exactly how I dress, but I think it's what I aspire to! And I feel like this long-sleeved top embodies boho chic perfectly. I love the fit of this top and the open shoulder neckline. I love how it's flattering without being form-fitting.What I love about the boho chic style is that it can be free and flowy and worn with cut-offs or boyfriend jeans. Or, it can also be dressed up for a more clean look (like here, how I paired the top with skinny jeans). Boho chic is feminine yet classy. It's free and creative, yet still put together and fashion-forward.
