one-of-a-kind pieces
If you haven't noticed by now, I'm a pretty basic "cut-offs and a tee" type of girl. I love fashion, but I feel like the majority of my wardrobe is made up of great basic pieces that I can mix and match with anything. This crochet dress however, is an exception. When I first saw it online, I thought it was bold, yet still feminine and classy. It stands out, but not in an obnoxious way. I think every girl needs to have a few one-of-a-kind pieces like this in her wardrobe. For special date nights (I wore this to a beautiful winery with Michael this weekend), or a trendy brunch. Something that makes you stand out from the crowd, but still lets you feel comfortable in your own skin.

the perfect date night dress.
Michael and I went to Mercat Bistro in Dallas last night for a date night and I cannot say enough amazing things about it! The food was a 10 on a 10 and the service was amazing. Also, if you haven't been there, it's very Parisian-inspired and everything there is just adorable and so romantic. I highly recommend!I wore this little yellow off-the-shoulder dress for our date night and felt so feminine yet comfortable! I love that this yellow color is bright and summery, but could easily transition into fall as well.

wear now, wear later dresses
Confession: I have a really hard time starting to buy all the new cute fall clothes that are coming out when it's 100+ degrees here still in Dallas. Maybe that makes me a procrastinator or not a planner, but I'm not going to buy a faux fur vest in July when I won't be able to wear that until October.BUT at the same time...it's probably not a smart idea to be buying 100 white dresses right now when I won't be able to wear them for too much longer (this year). That's why I felt like this cold-shoulder dress from No Rest for Bridget was such a smart purchase.
Dress | Handbag | Sunnies | Necklace | Watch | Sandals
I wore this dress last weekend in the heat of July, but also can't wait to wear it once temps cool off with a suede bootie! When I know I'll get a ton of use out of it (plus it's less than $40)...hard to say no to that.
A few other cold-shoulder dresses I'm loving from NRFB:

cactus love
This summer I have developed a major love for anything and everything related to cacti: succulents, the cactus emoji...I just think they are so adorable. Because of my current cactus crush, I instantly fell in love with this cactus-print dress. Not only is the print bright and so summery, but you can actually wear it in this 100+ degree Texas heat and survive! I wore it to brunch on Saturday at Saint Ann in Dallas...and we ate outside!

denim dress: all day everyday
The amount of times I've worn this denim dress in the past few weeks is borderline embarrassing. But, no shame. I love how this dress is perfect for running errands, Sunday brunch, or date night. Dress it up with wedges or go for the Cali cool look with slides. I'm obsessed!
little white (embroidered) dress
Like most girls in fashion, I enjoy following trends. This summer we're obviously seeing a lot of tassels, off-the-shoulder, and little white dresses to name a few. I think following trends is fun, but you definitely don't want your whole wardrobe to be made up of "trend" pieces. That would require you to buy a whole new wardrobe season after season, and let's be real, who can really afford to do that? One of the reasons I am in love with this little white dress is because it happens to both be on trend but also timeless. It's classy and can be so easily dressed up or down - for date nights or summer picnics. It looks great with a denim jacket and you will get so much use out of it season after season.

the striped dress
If there are two things in life I am a total sucker for, it's stripes, and comfort. This dress from No Rest For Bridget happens to incorporate both of those things!
Dress (c/o No Rest For Bridget) | Tassel Necklace | Tortoise sunnies | Crossbody bag | Watch | Sandals
This is one of those dresses that you throw on to run to the grocery store, return things to the mall, but could still wear it to a lunch date with a girl friend or a casual dinner with your man! I'm all about versatile pieces (especially when the price is this good!)
I'm also loving these three trapeze dresses from the No Rest For Bridget site!:

the bella dahl brunch.
This morning was truly magical. Decor= insane. Location= heart of Venice. People= genuinely precious-hearted. And the reason for the succulent-savvy, blogger-filled sit down was to celebrate the 5 year anniversary of the lovely Bella Dahl. Don't you love when you get the opportunity to meet the people behind a company you appreciate or a brand you adore, and it makes you love them even more? This describes my reaction after this beautiful brunch. I first discovered this brand a few years ago in Anthropologie, and the intense softness and comfort of the fabric completely won me over. I love how these pieces shift perfectly into every occasion ranging from a travel day to a beach excursion to a nice dinner. P.S. here are some reasons to love this label: it's LA based; it's vibe is laid back and effortlessly chic; it embodies a sophisticated coastal feel + they use the finest materials and hand dye and treat each piece. xoxo
off-the-shoulder craze.
Happy almost Friday ya'll! Do you ever find an article of clothing and think, "if I was a top, I would be this top?" Or, am I the only one? Regardless, those were my exact thoughts when I laid eyes on the top I'm sharing with ya'll today. It's feminine, it's flirty, it's flattering...and even better, it's basically wrinkle proof. During the summer I feel like I'm constantly traveling and therefore constantly ironing. I love that I don't have to worry about that with this off the shoulder top!
Top (see other colors here, here and here) | White cut-offs | Sandals | Fringe Cross-body bag | Sunnies
Another reason I'm obsessed with this top is it's perfect for pairing with cutoffs and sandals for an easy summer look, but I've also worn mine with white jeans for a date night look! Also, it's no secret that I'm basically living in off-the-shoulder tops this summer. So I decided to do a little roundup for ya'll of my favorite ones that were on instagram, but not on the blog!
