a new closet fave
You know you made a good purchase when you buy something that you never want to take off. And you repeat the same outfit 3 times in one week because you love it so much. That's exactly how I feel about this faux shearling vest.

It hasn't been cold enough in Texas yet for a big heavy vest, but I've been able to wear this one with a short-sleeved tee because it's pretty light-weight! It also has pockets and is the softest thing in the world.The other great thing about this shearling vest is that you can make it as dressy or casual as you want. I paired mine with distressed skinny jeans but you could also do it with a black skinny pant and heels for a dressier look!

a touch of red
I have always been slightly envious of girls that rock the color red all the time - at work, going out, red nails, red lips...it's never been a strength of mine and I typically shy away from the color. When I do love red though - is with all black. It adds such a bold pop of color and instantly makes any outfit so much more fun and exciting! I am obsessed with this red vest from anthro. I think you could wear it with jeans, a leather legging, or even your favorite workout tights. It's so fun and versatile!

Another essential in my closet is this black ponte pant in stretch twill. You can wear these casual with a big oversized sweater, or dress them up with a button down blouse for work. I have gotten so much use out of mine!

Winter Whites
I've always been one of "those girls" who wears white after labor day - even when this was considered "breaking a rule". I love white. Not only is it my favorite color just in general, but it's my favorite color to wear. I think it feels so feminine and classy.

I am obsessed with this mock neck sweater because it's so soft, thin and I love the loose fit. A lot of girls shy away from sweaters because of the extra bulk they add. Not this one! It would also be so cute with skinny jeans or a leather legging.
Not only do I love the color white, but I think wearing white on white (on white!) is such a sleek and clean monochromatic look. Just make sure they are all slightly different shades of white to give your outfit some dimension.!

TargetStyle
Target: one of God's many gifts to womankind. I think it is physically impossible to ever walk out of there empty handed. I recently went to Target to grab some holiday decor for our apartment (I didn't spend more than $20 on a single item)! Not only did I have luck in the Christmas decor department, but snagged a great faux fur vest for $40 + an adorable flannel shirt. Tuesday Trends: Capes + Vests
With hundreds and hundreds of fashion magazines reporting on hundreds and hundreds of trends for Fall, attempting to find these trends when out shopping can get a bit overwhelming. Lo & I wanted to highlight just two of the trends for Fall that we are loving right now -- capes and vests!I am currently obsessed with vests of all shapes & sizes - the puffer vest, vests for activewear, and am especially loving this long vest I found recently at Anthro! I wore mine casual with booties (side note - these might rival my madewell booties which I'm so in love with), but you could jazz it up with a leather legging as well!
