THE LIVING ROOM
join us as we take a deep dive into every room of lauren’s home, all exclusively featured first on the home tour (watch here)
one of the things that drew me to our house was the open layout of the kitchen and living room. it allows for such a communal space of cooking and connecting or watching some football with chili on the stove.

LIVABLE AND AESTHETICALLY PLEASING
in order to make this space feel livable yet aesthetically pleasing, we got a deep couch that retains its shape set beside a basket full of comfy blankets and a chair that has the best reviews from any guest.
in the renovation, we removed the stone fireplace and centered it with a plaster fireplace wall. we also filled in the indented alcove that existed in the middle of the television wall. it is amazing how those two changes alone made it feel like a different room.
we incorporated a completely sustainable pure and felted new zealand wool rug crafted by the wonderful halcyon lake as the foundation of our room; they are an incredibly respected manufacturer in australia and are so lovely to work with. we integrated more woods in lighter and darker tones along with neutral pillows and furniture. it is one of our favorite spaces to rest and hang.
