BOLD + FIERCELocation: The Salon @ Lincoln CenterAugust Getty’s Fall runway show was one of the most powerful shows I attended at fashion week this year. The models’ outfits and stride syncopated to the crescendo of the music with each passing look. You would have never known that this was only Getty’s second time (and second collection) to be featured in this prestigious event. Celebrities like Kristin Cavallari, Lennon & Maisy, and Whoppi Goldberg came to show their support for the new designer. In fact, Kristin turned heads by wearing one of his more provocative spring 2015 pieces (as seen below. note: that is my blonde head just two rows behind her!). His fall collection can be summarized in just a few words: all black everything. Black leather, black sequins, black fur. Cut-outs were also a common theme throughout his presentation. While I wouldn’t classify this collection as “ready for everyday”, I will say that it makes a strong case that leather accents are here to stay. The woman who is bold enough to wear these fierce pieces is not to be messed with.Kristin Cavallari at the August Getty show:Kristin Cavallari_August Getty 2-23-2015 1-22-35 PM 2-23-2015 1-24-02 PM 2-23-2015 1-24-39 PM

Confident + Chic + CharmingLocation: The Salon @ Lincoln CenterNoon by Noor stole the show for me with their feminine silhouettes and effortless elegance as the models confidently walked the down the runway covered in winter roses, jeweled embellishments and floral sequins. I loved how the two Bahrain designers incorporated pops of purple and navy in the predominately grey, white, black and metallic collection. The sleek fabrics have an air of chicness about them while the lavish use of embellishments adds charm to otherwise, minimalistic patterns. The most noteworthy looks for me were the floor length, elegantly embellished evening gowns that put a modern twist on traditionally conservative styles. The woman who is confident enough to wear these strong metallics and embellishments during a more muted season, is a little more daring while at the same time still very charming – I think Olivia Palermo and Coco Rocha would agree.olivia and cocha 2-23-2015 1-40-38 PM 2-23-2015 1-39-28 PM 2-23-2015 1-39-05 PM 2-23-2015 1-38-44 PM[playlist type="video" ids="11618"]To summarize the trends I see for Fall 2015: metallics, pops of color, lots of leather, sharp lines, soft textures, midi length dresses, and my personal favorite – feminine fall florals.
