Denim shopping tips

Curating a denim collection is an important part of building a wardrobe that you love! However, it can be a daunting task and one that most people don't love. I can't say that standing in a dressing room and trying on a million and one pair of jeans is my definition of fun. What is fun though is finally finding jeans that work for you and make you feel great. A few tips for denim shopping-

  • Trial and Error- Try and try again. You might buy a pair of jeans, think that they work, and then realize that they don't. That is totally normal and part of the process. It will help you make a better decision next time- don't beat yourself up about it- just donate, consign, or give them to a friend. If they don't fit you well and don't make you feel amazing, it makes no sense to keep them!
  • Keep your beautiful chin up! You are a gorgeous soul, inside and out, and no pair of jeans shall tell you otherwise! Jean fitting can be so frustrating, but don't let it get to you. If they don't fit, they are out. You will soon find a pair that you LOVE that loves you and your body right back! And that is a perfect match.
  • Stick with what works. After a few years of trial and error, I have found that Joe's jeans, Paige denim, Express, Loft, and rag & bone pants work for my body. Therefore, I will only buy my jeans from those brands! Once you find brands that work for you, the hard part is over. When it comes time to add a pair to your collection, you now know what brands/stores to visit. That makes the shopping process that much easier.
