Mother's Day: Supporting Small Companies

I started thinking through some gift ideas for my mama, Jase's mom, and my sister today. Gift giving makes my heart so happy + I try to think about something that is thoughtful and something that they will use and would not buy for themselves. And not to mention, this day is the sweetest day to celebrate and flood your mom with love. This year is especially different, too, and she may need some extra love + a virtual celebration can still be extra special! As I was thinking, I thought it could add even more meaning to support small businesses when we buy our presents. I wanted to list out a few of my favorite.I also wanted to touch on the fact that this day could be difficult for those who have lost their moms or didn't have one involved in their life. The Lord's got you, and I would encourage you to do something for someone on this day. It could be gifting or sending a written note to a mother figure or a close friend that you appreciate.Now is the best time to order cards - there are so many cute ones here.Give your mom a clean beauty or makeup product from my favorite shop of all!This shop is one of the cutest made up of elevated handmade goods. Easy peasy!Flowers and plants warm up a home, brighten a day, and bring extra oxygen + clean the air! Jaymee works closely with a collection of family-owned printers that have been established for decades, and she sources premium FSC-certified & recycled stocks from around the world. All of our letterpress cards are printed on a Heidelberg Windmill, an antique press that has been around since the early 1900s. Each sheet is fed into the machine and individually impressed. The Gift of Giving & Receiving

Right now is an extra important time to love extra on your friends and family. We all need it! After acknowledging and processing my emotions, my dad would always encourage me to serve someone when I was struggling, and it was some of the best wisdom I have received. We should all pitch in to help each other not feel alone in these unknown times + it takes the focus off of ourselves when we doing something special for someone else. Also, with Easter coming up, it is the sweetest time to send thoughtful little things that will make someone smile. Also, this is the best way to support small businesses!The Magnolia Cookbook is the perfect present to give someone right now, especially because we all have no choice but to cook! I made the cilantro lime rice and roasted carrots as part of our meal last night, and it got me out of my cooking rut + they both were so easy to make, flavorful and tasty!A candle sets such a peaceful tone in the house + these beeswax candles clean the air! What gets better than that at this time?These Jaymes Paper cards are always stocked in my home. You can buy a pack for yourself to write loved ones handwritten notes and send a set to your friend too!I am sending bright flowers to my parents and Jase's parents this weekend for Easter to help make this season feel extra hopeful!Gift an at-home spa night for your bestie or send some nontoxic cleaning products because everyone is cleaning extra right now.For my sweet nieces, I got Kate (who is three), this tee, these pants, and this nontoxic tie dye set to create a fun memory during this time at home. It is so rewarding, good for your mind, and it keeps you off your phone! Cuyana: Give Better

Christmas shopping is one of my favorite activities. I enjoy it so much because it is an adventure trying to find presents that are really personal, meaningful, and high quality, yet affordable for the special ones in my life. It is not always easy, but it is such a joy when those special items are found and gifted. Cue the tears on Christmas morning!I recently discovered the brand, Cuyana, and it is one of those finds that I wonder what I did without.
