Sharing our denim diaries today, as we are definitely denim obsessed here at LSK. Denim is the definition of casual, cool, and chic. Having a collection of favorite denim items that you wear again and again is the foundation of curating a wardrobe that you truly love. Not only is denim versatile and seasonless, but all-things-jean get better with more wear and as we all know, not much washing is needed. How great is that? denim + cable knit

I will be the first to admit - I was really hesitant about this denim skirt trend. I love the 70s vibe of it, but personally felt like I couldn't pull it off. That all changed though the second I actually tried this one on. The combination of high-waisted + A-line basically equals the most flattering thing you could ever put on. I also love this denim skirt because it gives you variety when you don't just want to wear jeans. Dallas has been really slow to enter into fall, so this is a great alternative to dress "fall", without burning up!

I've also always been a fan of semi-cropped sweaters but since I'm tall-ish, I've had a hard time knowing what to pair it with. I love pairing this cable knit sweater with the denim skirt - the skirt is high waisted so I don't have to worry about the sweater being too short, and I think cable knit and denim is such a classic look!

boho chic

When people ask me to describe my style, I often use the phrase "boho chic" - not necessarily because that's exactly how I dress, but I think it's what I aspire to! And I feel like this long-sleeved top embodies boho chic perfectly. I love the fit of this top and the open shoulder neckline. I love how it's flattering without being form-fitting.What I love about the boho chic style is that it can be free and flowy and worn with cut-offs or boyfriend jeans. Or, it can also be dressed up for a more clean look (like here, how I paired the top with skinny jeans). Boho chic is feminine yet classy. It's free and creative, yet still put together and fashion-forward.

olive green dress

There are some combinations in the fashion world that are just magical. And in my opinion, olive green + denim + leopard is one of those combinations. This olive green dress is not only adorable on its own (and 40% off right now!) but it's also the perfect layering dress. It's perfect with a denim jacket, or a leopard-print scarf would also be adorable.I wore it recently on a (still) hot summer night in Dallas, but this will be making several appearances in cooler months as well (but probably paired with booties!)As wonderful as this olive green dress is, the real star of the show here is this leopard foldover clutch. It's not only great just because it's beautiful to look at, but since I got it maybe 2 weeks ago, I've worn it with at least 10 outfits. I wore it to a wedding, wore it with distressed jeans, dressed it up, dressed it down...it really is perfect! The quality is amazing so I know it will last me years to come, and the colors are the perfect neutral combination so you can pair it with anything and everything.

seventies inspo

Am I the only one completely freaked out that we're already talking about Labor Day plans and the State Fair and fall things?! Where has summer gone? This look I'm sharing with you today is the first "transition" look I've posted this season! This blouse is lightweight and still works for the Texas heat, but you could also pair it with skinny jeans and OTK boots when the temps cool off.Another reason I love this top is because it can seamlessly work for both the weekend, or the office. Pair it with a suede skirt or tuck it into black high-waisted pants and it would be perfect for the office. But, it also looks great with flare jeans like I wore it here, or cut off denim shorts!

the oversized shirt

Prior to finding this oversized button-down shirt, my go-to outfit this summer has always been a simple off-the-shoulder dress and sandals. This shirt though has quickly been a game-changer for me!I regularly throw it on with cut-offs to run errands, or wore it with white skinny jeans to a lunch I went to recently. It's perfect for dressing up or down and will also transition perfectly into the Fall months!

when to choose quality over quantity

Happy Friday eve ya'll! So by now you probably know me well enough to know I am all about a deal, and saving money. I've always wanted to be a Chanel purse, Prada sunglasses type of girl, but that's just not me. Maybe in my next life, but for now, I strive to be on trend and feel my best, without breaking the bank. Today though, I want to talk about when you should choose quality for your wardrobe over quantity. Early on this summer I was on the hunt for white jeans. I tried on (no joke) at least 7 pair that were all around the $50 price range. I hated every single one. They didn't fit right, or they were too ripped, or they were super thin and I knew I wouldn't get more than 10 wears out of them.I slightly felt like the heavens opened up when I tried on this pair of white jeans though. They are definitely more than what I usually spend on jeans, but the fit was perfect, the material felt like real quality, and I knew I'd be wearing them for summers to come. So, to each his own! But, in my opinion, a good pair of white jeans that will last you years (instead of buying a $50 pair every summer), is totally worth it.And this top - let's talk for a minute about Bella Dahl. I'm sure you've seen some of Lo's posts about them - but we are both obsessed. The top I'm wearing here isn't your typical denim top. Because it's from Bella Dahl, the quality is truly amazing, and you would not believe how soft it is. BD is known for creating ultra-soft women’s essentials, with outstanding quality. Each and every item is hand-dyed, treated and quality controlled in Los Angeles, using only the finest materials.Also, I got this entire look (top, jeans, and birks) from St. Bernard Sports! A few years back I always thought of this store when I needed new snowboarding gear or a Patagonia fleece. However, it has quickly become my one-stop-shop for anything and everything. They carry high end fashion lines, sporting goods, LAFCO candles, and literally anything your heart could desire. denim dress: all day everyday

The amount of times I've worn this denim dress in the past few weeks is borderline embarrassing. But, no shame. I love how this dress is perfect for running errands, Sunday brunch, or date night. Dress it up with wedges or go for the Cali cool look with slides. I'm obsessed!

madewell event: 7.18.15

If I haven't said it before, I'm saying it now: if I could shop at one store only for the rest of my life, it would hands down be Madewell. Their jeans are incredible quality and I love the fit. The style is effortlessly chic, yet timeless. The clothes are fun & trendy yet quality pieces that will last you season to season. I'm obsessed.
