Street Style: NYC Fashion Week Edition
One of the most exciting parts of being at New York City Fashion Week is taking in the street style as people from all over the world emerge in the city sporting high fashion with a personal twist. Outside-the-box dressers are galore in this fashionista 'convention'. A street style moment of truth: questions about trends are answered when you can see how someone else is wearing it; sometimes you just need a little nudge. Take a look at LOLO Magazine's top picks for street style today in the city. Feel free to let your hair down and go beyond your comfort zone this fall. Inspiration is truly at its best, so have fun with it![galleryview id= 57]
Hey Men! Get the 'General Idea' of Fashion
Hey guys! It's about time you got a little fashion insight…the ladies have been hogging it all. Well, I have some news for you, thanks to the brilliant General Idea show this morning at New York Fashion Week. I certainly understand the inspiration clause for this bright-hued collection: the boys of the beach. The designer clearly put his bold foot forward with this prep-tastic menswear line illusioned after the high society oasis of St. Tropez.[galleryview id= 56]Displaying the perfect mix of luxury and leisure, the array of nautical stripes and checkered patterns makes that transition from day to night easy as a button. A primary blue and green palette created a prevalent wave of classic pieces, that were fresh, charming, and sophisticated. Not to mention, every look was precisely tailored, with some hints of trendsetting patchwork. The stand out additions: platform Sperry-esque topsiders, cable knit shorts (who said this fabric doesn't work in the spring?), and of course the nearly neon multi-colored polyester jackets. Take some hints, men, and rock these looks next spring!Photos by Aaron Craig
Austin Fashion Week 2011 Kicks Off!
On Saturday, the city of Austin was ready to officially kick off Austin Fashion Week 2011 at the Speed and Glory Event presented by Lincoln. Walking in on a red carpet, excitement hit me wondering what they had in store for us throughout the evening. Appetizers were served and drinks were poured, courtesy of Tito's Vodka, Corzo Tequila, Rebecca Creek Whiskey, Vitamin Water Zero and more. The showroom began to fill up in time for the runway shows by Harley Davidson and Betsey Johnson. Taking my seat, I anticipated the Betsey Johnson Collection. Edgy fun with a girlie girl feel, the collection was something I could not take my eyes off of. The night continued with a performance by an 80's cover band, LC Rocks. Austin Fashion Week is off to a fantastic start; I'm looking forward to the events to come throughout the week. Take a peek at the schedule here. There are many showcase events that are open to the public and some are free![galleryview id= 38]
